The idea has been brought up to purchase a bench along the Duluth Lake Walk in Chad's memory. This would entail purchasing the bench for $2,000 and having an inscription engraved in his memory. This would give family and friends a place to go, gather together, and share Chad's memory, stories and spirit.
The challenge is to come up with the $2,000. Since all concert proceeds go toward youth music and hockey, we would need to come up with another means to raise this money. Presently, all of Chad's goalie equipment is consigned for sale. (A few years ago he completely outfitted himself to play hockey again, and only hit the ice once!) There is an interested party in his golf clubs and bag, so hopefully they will be sold soon. His guitar amplifier head will also be put up for sale or consignment very soon. It is our thought that whatever money is received for the sale of his equipment will be used toward purchasing a bench.
However, we will need more money than what will be brought in through these sales. If anyone has ideas on how we could reach this $2,000 goal, please get in touch with us by emailing Cara. We would really like to see this happen, but again will need the help of others. Of course, donations toward this purchase would be very much appreciated also.
